Description
This comprehensive 1-day course equips learners with the knowledge and practical skills needed to assist an adult in the workplace during a medical emergency. Participants will gain the confidence to respond effectively to situations such as:
- An unresponsive person who is not breathing, including the use of an automated external defibrillator (AED)
- An unresponsive person who is breathing
- Seizures
- Choking
- Bleeding
- Shock and internal bleeding
- Burns
In addition, the course covers essential topics such as
- Assessing and monitoring a casualty
- Seeking appropriate help
- Dealing with electrical incidents
- Recording and reporting accidents
Understanding the control of substances hazardous to health (COSHH).
Course Aims
Our Emergency First Aid at Work course equips learners with the essential knowledge and hands-on skills needed to respond effectively to workplace emergencies.
This course:
- Fully complies with Health and Safety Executive requirements for workplace first aid.
- Is ideal for those obtaining their initial Emergency First Aid at Work certification or renewing an existing qualification.
- Is widely recognised as a Level 3 first aid qualification.
Designed for low-risk environments such as offices, shops, and call centres, the training covers a comprehensive range of vital first aid techniques. Participants will gain the confidence to handle injuries and medical emergencies promptly while understanding when to seek professional medical assistance.
Funding Available
AEB Funding is available for eligible learners.
Eligible learners must be:
- Aged at least 19 on 31st August 2024
- Reside within the Tees Valley
- Be unemployed or employed and earn less than the wage cap of £33,210 per annum
Additionally, CITB Grant is available for eligible learners to reclaim on completion of training.
