Health & Safety within a Construction Environment (Level 1) (CSCS Green Card Course)
Course Aims
The Level 1 Health and Safety in a Construction Environment course is designed for individuals who currently work, or are looking to work, in the construction industry and need to obtain a CSCS Green Card.
This 1-day course provides learners with the knowledge and skills to:
- Identify workplace hazards and take steps to avoid, reduce, or control risks
- Understand the different types of fire extinguishers and their appropriate use
Gain an understanding of key health and safety legislation relevant to construction environments
Achievement Assessment
At the end of the training course, learners will sit a theory test comprising 40 multiple-choice questions under exam conditions.
Once completed, the exam papers are securely sealed and sent directly to Highfield for marking, ensuring impartial assessment. Skills Academy staff do not mark the exams.
Results are typically received from Highfield within approximately 7 days.
Funding Available
AEB Funding is available for eligible learners.
Eligible learners must be:
- Aged at least 19 on 31st August 2024
- Reside within the Tees Valley
- Be unemployed or employed and earn less than the wage cap of £33,210 per annum
Additionally, CITB Grant is available for eligible learners to reclaim on completion of training.
